The Grid Forum (GRIFOn) is shaping European Electricity Markets
OneNet – One Network for Europe, Europe’s largest H2020 research project in the field of TSO-DSO-Consumer market integration, is pleased to invite interested stakeholders to join the Grid Forum (GRIFOn)
GRIFOn (GRId Forum) is an initiative launched by OneNet to promote and facilitate the creation of a community of stakeholders interested to collaborate and actively tackle the most pressing issues regarding the future European electricity markets.
The 70+ project partners of OneNet collaborate to demonstrate that a system of systems approach in the European electricity system is possible and can combine existing and new solutions thanks to an open IT approach. Feedback from GRIFOn will directly impact the results of OneNet project, including some of the largest research and innovation demonstrators at European level.
The first GRIFOn workshop is taking place on 5 November 2021 from 10.00-11.30am CET on Zoom.
In this workshop, we will focus on two topics:
1. A harmonized European IT architecture for market and network operation
2. Services, products, and market design for a harmonised European electricity market
OneNet speakers will introduce the topics before we open the discussion to engage with the audience.
Confirmed speakers:
- Antonello Monti (Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology FIT)
- Ferdinando Bosco (Engineering Ingegneria Informatica Spa)
- Katerina Drivakou (Ubitech Energy)
- Athanasios Bachoumis (Ubitech Energy)

More information on OneNet and GRIFOn
The European project “OneNet” (One Network for Europe) aims to demonstrate that a system of systems approach in the European electricity system is possible and can combine existing and new solutions thanks to an open IT approach.
The OneNet consortium is convinced that one single solution for grid and market operation in Europe is neither feasible nor reasonable. Instead, Europe needs new synergies and new levels of cooperation among the players to facilitate the operation of the electrical infrastructure as One Network for Europe (OneNet). To achieve this, OneNet will not start from scratch but build on previously developed and demonstrated concepts and solutions.
Large consensus is necessary to let the OneNet proposed solutions fly. This is the aim of GRIFOn.
